Originally from Columbus Ohio, Dr. Kelli Powers has always had a passion for horses. She grew up riding and competing in the hunter-jumpers which helped spark her interest in veterinary medicine. After graduating from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in Equine Science, she attended veterinary school at Auburn University and received her DVM in 2020. After graduation, she completed a specialized sports medicine internship in northern Virginia where she worked with the highest level of equine athletes. She then made her way to northeastern Pennsylvania where she practiced general, emergency, and sports medicine for the last 3 years. Dr. Powers developed a special interest in rehabilitation thanks to her own horse, Bentley. She became a Certified Equine Rehabilitation and Performance Veterinarian in 2023 and looks forward to continuing to apply this knowledge at BBA. She is also interested in senior horse care and the sustainability of equine practice as a whole. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her adorable dog, Lucy, playing fantasy football, and cheering for her favorite baseball team, the Boston Red Sox. Don’t worry, she roots for the Eagles on Sundays! She also enjoys exploring new restaurants and traveling. She is very excited to be a part of the BBA team!
